About Roché Buckle

Roché Buckle is a Drama Teacher who loves to ‘teach with tech’. Communication, Creativity, Confidence, Critical Thinking and Responsibility are all vital 21st Century skills that are the foundational components of dynamic and holistic learning and are explored in the Drama class using Google Workspace for Education tools. This links to Roché’s passion for Project-Based Learning where she encourages and demonstrates how Drama can be used in cross-curricular projects, broadening the scope and making Drama more accessible to all learners.

This dynamic approach led to her acceptance into the #NYC19 Google Innovator Academy where she was inspired by ‘like-minded’ Google fanatics, culminating in the creation of her two apps, ‘Drama Fun’ and ‘Dramatic Technique’. Roché’s enthusiasm and keen ability for sharing are integral in her training sessions with adults, helping them to gain confidence with using Google Workspace tools and building their Public Speaking techniques and abilities which are essential in the workplace. Roché has presented at various EdTech Summits in Cape Town, the ‘Tech for Tinies’ online event and will be a presenter at the inaugural Creative Arts Education Conference in August 2021.

In her spare time, Roché loves the stage and has directed various productions at the ArtsCape Theatre Centre in Cape Town.
